Get Support

At Michigan, we’re here to support you. That means nourishing your personal well-being and bolstering your academic and professional success. Here is a snapshot of some of the resources available to you as a member of the University of Michigan and Michigan Medicine communities.

Need Help Now?

If you are experiencing a health or safety emergency, call 911. The Division of Public Safety’s non-emergency number is 734-763-1131.

The Alumni Center on Central Campus has free bagels and coffee on Wednesday. There is a food shelter for those experiencing food insecurity. Rackham emergency funds and other grants (conference travel, research, professional development) should be taken advantage of ASAP!"

If you’re experiencing financial, housing or food insecurity, the university can help. All current students have access to a Basic Needs Portal for information on food banks, emergency grants and housing assistance. Student Emergency Funds are also available for university students who encounter an emergency situation while in school.

Safety

Sign up to receive campus emergency alerts, register your laptop or bike to deter theft, and learn more about the University of Michigan Division of Public Safety & Security in our Campus Safety section.

Accessibility & Disability Accommodations

The University of Michigan is dedicated to supporting students who might encounter barriers caused by disabilities – whether that disability pre-existed, develops while at school or is recognized for the first time during your time here. Find more information about accommodations for learners with disabilities, and about the accessibility of campus buildings and getting around the city of Ann Arbor.

Benefits & Insurance

As a member of our community, you and your dependents may be eligible for health care coverage and high-quality benefits packages. Visit the University of Michigan Human Resources to find information on enrollment eligibility.
