From your first moments on campus, the innovative spaces of the Taubman Health Sciences Library will be integral to your training as a future physician.

Each of the five floors is optimized to support your learning in the medical school curriculum: study, lectures, collaboration, clinical simulation suite with standardized patient instructors, interprofessional training, small groups, mentoring, social gatherings, and more. U-M informationists and tech support staff are available to help you take full advantage of the vast resources at your disposal.

Your Clinical Training Ground

There are many settings in which you'll care for diverse and underserved patients throughout your clinical training, starting with the medical center adjacent to the medical school, which has more than 46,000 inpatient discharges and 2.3 million outpatient visits each year. There are numerous Michigan Medicine off-site locations as well.

The Michigan Medicine campus houses two state-of-the-art Clinical Simulation Centers that are open 24/7 so med students can independently practice skills or complete training modules whenever they want. Medical students have expanded exposure to patient populations in both urban and rural environments through partnerships and programs at other hospitals, private medical groups and community agencies located in southeastern Michigan.

Students may also choose to rotate at other institutions across the U.S. or abroad.
