Your Next Step is U-M PREP
A 1 to 2-year research training program designed to help trainees strengthen their candidacy for admission to the nation's strongest biomedical sciences PhD and dual degree programs.
U-M PREP is part of the training efforts of the NIH's Diversity in the Biomedical Workforce initiative and is supported by the NIH Division of Training, Workforce Development, and Diversity.
U-M PREP encourages applications from underrepresented minorities who hold a recent baccalaureate degree in a field related to biomedical sciences that are interested in pursuing a research doctorate. View all PREP Participating Institutions. Through this program, our U-M PREP trainees have the opportunity to work alongside one of our faculty to strengthen their research skills and increase their competitiveness in their pursuit of a PhD degree in biomedical sciences.
Learners in our programs each have an intersectionality of many identities, perspectives and experiences. We embrace the diversity within our community and are committed to continuously enriching a more diverse, equitable and inclusive legacy.
