Research efforts in cancer pharmacology focus on uncovering the cellular and molecular underpinnings of cancer, and to harness this knowledge to identify and develop novel anti-cancer targets and therapeutic strategies. This work includes understanding inflammation and immune mechanisms to manipulate the immune system in the treatment of diseases like cancer.
Our efforts bridge the fields of molecular carcinogenesis, biochemical and molecular pharmacology, immunology, radiation oncology, and clinical pharmacology. Our research programs are highly collaborative with the U-M Medical School Department of Radiation Oncology and with the Rogel Cancer Center, an NCI-designated comprehensive cancer center.
