The U-M Medical School Department of Pharmacology is developing novel therapeutics through interdisciplinary studies that utilize the latest cutting-edge molecular, biochemical and genetic technologies applied to studies in isolated animal and human cells and intact animal models of disease.

This work translates discoveries on the fundamental aspects of human physiology and pathophysiology into real world solutions for modern clinical problems, which may result in novel medicines for the treatment of an array of diseases including thrombosis, heart failure, cardiac arrhythmia and kidney disease.
