The Clinical Experience and Quality (CEQ) program is made up of a team of systems engineers, data analysts and clinicians, working with faculty, staff and trainees across the University of Michigan Medical School Department of Internal Medicine on continuous quality improvement and safety projects to optimize patient care and safety. We provide large-scale, professional project management, oversight, quality improvement (QI) coaching and data support for QI projects, education, career development and scholarly work.
- CEQ Grand Round Speaker series highlights internal and external efforts and perspectives within quality improvement, patient care, safety and research.
- CEQ Quality Council provides oversight, coordination and input into the quality improvement activities of the department. It is comprised of representatives from each division of internal medicine, trainees and patients who come together on a regular basis.

Clinical Experience & Quality Awards:
- Resident Travel Awards allowed 10 Internal Medicine residents to present their QI work at national conferences
- Quality Improvement Awards provide 10% faculty protected effort, a stipend, and support of the QI team to address large-sale opportunities
Clinical Experience & Quality Scholarly Work:
- Created Quality Improvement Curriculum for residents and fellows
- Included 102 posters and talks as well as 31 peer-reviewed articles
